Christmas was so much fun for us! It was busy...and it was long...but it was so fun!
We were able to sleep in for as long as Ella let us and we opened a few presents. She doesn't really understand what's going on but it was fun to watch her.
After hanging out at our house, we went to Steve's mother's house for breakfast and so we could talk to Elder Wells. Steve and I were the first to talk to him and I L O V E D every second of it! I'm really close to him and miss him like crazy. We used to talk about everything and I really liked his girlfriend. When he left, I had to say goodbye to him AND Shelby and that was tough on me. Anyways, while at Grandma & Grandpa Duckett's house, we opened more presents and found out that Ella really likes wrapping paper. Like, really likes it. She threw a tantrum when I took it away...
Chester, Diane's cat, jumped into a gift bag and everyone thought it was funny. Steve joked about taking him home...nope!
After the Duckett's, we drove over Grandma & Grandpa Haymond's. Colby was supposed to call around 1 and we got there shortly afterwards. It was fun to talk to him too! Since I get to "talk" to him most weeks through email, I didn't take long on the phone. Rian wanted to talk to him so I let her :) We watched Austyn and Linzi open their presents and then the grandkids got to open theirs. Rian was very willing to help open presents! She also couldn't wait to go outside and ride her new 'pink princess bike'. While she was outside, Lola and Ella were playing together. Ella's trying to keep up with Lola but it isn't working yet...
Onto the next house!
After Grandma & Grandpa Haymond's, we drove to Highland to be Grandma Ali & Poppa Jim - Steve's dad and stepmom. We had a wonderful dinner there and Ella got to play around with her uncles. She doesn't see them too often so it's always a treat when she gets to see them. And they spoil her with attention :)
Playing with Uncle Scott
Surrounded by her Uncles and Daddy
Uncle Jeff got her to sleep!
After a quick cat-nap, Ella was entertained by Poppa Jim and he did an amazing job! He had her laughing so hard!
Playing with her new toy
We left our home at 9am and returned at 9pm...it was a loooooooooooooooong day for all of us and I'm so glad we had the next day off to recuperate from it all. We enjoyed Ella's first Christmas and we're both looking forward to next Christmas since she'll love it even more!

First Christmases are so fun!! And they just get funner as they get older and understand more! I am so excited for next year and even the next when Deegan will really "get" it all. Kids make everything better!
