Missionary Danny

Steven's brother, Daniel, left yesterday on his mission. I don't know if it was the pregnancy hormones (that's the excuse I'm going with) or my relationship with him (we're really close) but I'm pretty sure I cried 85% of the day. Unlike with Colby, I was actually able to be at the Provo Temple with my in-laws and get a proper goodbye.

Both sides were able to be there-including both step-parents-and his girlfriend even surprised us by coming. After taking pictures, we started walking down to the MTC. Since they have a big family, they knew they wouldn't be able to fit in 1 car and that's all the MTC allows. Well, they also don't allow you to walk down! A Provo Policeman kindly told us that they only allow cars and we scrambled to find a car big enough for immediate family and I quickly said my overly-tearful goodbye. In the end, he arrived at the doors with the biggest smile on his face. We're so proud of him and the decision he made to ultimately go and serve in the New Jersey Morristown Mission. I made him promise that if he's ever in Hoboken, that he better visit Carlo's Bakery for me and sample some of their pastries. I'm hoping he overnights some so I can taste them myself!

I love this last picture...as we were walking down, Ben put his arm around Danny and they continued to walk down like that. They've always been best friends and were even in a band together. I'm fairly certain that we're all really worried about Ben. He was kept super busy afterwards and we've been checking in with him making sure that 'he's ok'. Good kids...
